Toronto, Ontario – February 22, 2019 — YourMechanic, a U.S.-based mobile car repair network will be popping up in more Canadian cities this year.
The service that connects car owners with mobile mechanics started operating in Toronto in December and has plans to spread to other Canadian cities as it becomes more popular.
“YourMechanic is profoundly changing the process of auto maintenance and repair by bringing a higher level of convenience, efficiency, and transparency to car owners and auto technicians alike,” said, Anthony Rodio, president and CEO of YourMechanic.
Among investors in the company is the Royal Bank of Canada which has distributed $10.1 million U.S. in Series B1 funding so the company can expand its online service internationally.
With the expansion, the network is planning on adding more services to attract more rental companies, rideshare operations, and corporate and government fleet managers.
“We are addressing the top challenges faced by fleet managers by delivering flexible service packages. With this funding, we’ll accelerate those services and expand into Canada, to reinforce our market leadership position worldwide.”
YourMechanic covers more than 500 on-site repair, maintenance, and diagnostic repair services. With the ability to schedule your own hours and area of work, this has attracted automotive technicians to the job.
Toronto technician, George Marji joined YouMechanic late last year and believes that mobile work is the way of the future.
“It is the future of automotive repair. A lot of people don’t have the time to go to a shop and spend a few hours there. We’ll come to you while you continue to do what you have to do at home or the office. Our customers absolutely love it,” he told Auto Service World.
A large majority of the automotive technicians working for YourMechanic have at least 10 years of experience and in most cases are master technicians with ASE Certifications.
