Montreal, Quebec — Autobody workers in Quebec can now be hired without employers searching for Canadians first.
Quebec’s Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) is a list of high-demand jobs which allows employers to hire temporary foreign workers directly, without proving that they tried and failed to find qualified Canadians first.
Updates to the LMIA by the Ministry of Immigration, Francisation and Integration (MIFI) have added another 58 occupations exempt from the LMIA process, while removing 15 from the list.
This change may stem from this year’s anticipated economic rebounds from multiple banks including TD Bank and RBC, Royal Bank. Canadian manufacturing has shown particularly sharp growth as public health measures were reduced in multiple provinces and regions.
