Ottawa, Ontario — The Automotive Industries Association (AIA) of Canada, Quebec division, appointed two new executive vice-presidents to the steering committee; Élisabeth Lambert and Mario Comtois.
The steering committees role is to guide the establishment of priority areas for action and ensure the continued success of CCIF industry events and projects.
The automotive industry can be hard to navigate as a female, even in 2020, but Lambert challenged that narrative when she was appointed the vice-president and first-ever female to hold that title since the inception of the committee.
“I am truly thrilled and challenged to be part of this great organization. Being appointed as vice-president is greatly motivating considering the tremendous challenges ahead. The diversity of the Steering Committee’s members is proof that this industry is evolving well and adapting to new realities. I am honoured to be able to contribute to making a difference to fulfill AIA’s mission for the automotive aftermarket,” she explains.
Lambert is vice-president, general manager and co-owner of Pièces d’Auto Joliette. Since joining, she has contributed enormously to the succession council by organizing training fairs to ensure succession for the region’s workshops.
The second person to be appointed as vice-president to the committee was Comtois, the general manager of Carrus, a division of Mediagrif.
On the committee, he is responsible for the banner directors council, which participates in any project that supports the aftermarket industry.
AIA is a national industry association that brings together the entire automotive aftermarket supply and service chain. Their membership extends to more than 4,000 member locations across Canada, employing professionals dedicated to providing quality parts and products as well as vehicle service.
