Windows and Brakes: Ford and Mercedes-Benz caught in latest Transport Canada recall wave

Toronto, Ontario – A new Transport Canada recall warns of braking issues across several models of Ford vehicles, along with window trims falling off Mercedes-Benz GLE and GLS Class vehicles.

Under recall number 2023151, Transport Canada reports the possibility of improperly attached window trim on 2022 to 2023 GLE and GLS rear doors, which may randomly detach while driving and increase the risk of a crash.

Notably, this is an expansion of recall number 2022-509, with an identical issue being identified in 2020 to 2022 GLE and GLS Class Mercedes-Benz vehicles.

In the case of Ford, recall number 2023132 affects 2013 to 2018 Lincoln MKZs and 2013 to 2018 Ford Fusion vehicles, highlighting the possibility of faulty front brake hoses, leaking brake fluid and eventually harming the vehicle’s braking ability.

Notably, vehicles repaired under Ford warranty extension program 22N02 and those with hybrid engines do not require new front brake hoses and already come with updated brake hoses.
