Bavaria, Germany – A video circulating on social media platform X, shows a Tesla’s rear window breaking in a hailstorm. In the video, hail pellets break through the rear window of the car and continue to shatter pieces of glass.
While the other windows appear to remain in-tact, the rest of the car did suffer some dents.
This isn’t the first time a Tesla has been seen being damaged or destroyed by hail—even though the glass roof is designed to withstand the weight of two elephants.
For example, a Tesla Model Three owner in Canada had their panoramic sunroof shattered in a hailstorm resulting in their vehicle being totaled. Similarly, a resident in Colorado, United States was told to wait three to six months for the manufacturer to fix his damaged Tesla solar panels.
Fortunately, according to its website, Tesla does offer its own car insurance with evaluation claims for accidents, collisions, glass damage, among other damages.
