Waterdown, Ontario — May 9, 2016 — Suds were flying this weekend at Waterdown Collision. The facility, owned and operated by Max DiFelice, hosted the annual fundraising event for Dante’s Puddle Jumpers Charity Car Wash. The fundraiser is in support of cystic fibrosis research. It’s a cause that hits close to home for the DiFelice family.
Dante DiFelice is a 13-year-old living with cystic fibrosis (CF) and is an active supporter of Cystic Fibrosis Canada. This is the fifth annual event for Dante’s Puddle Jumpers. Last year, Waterdown Collision managed to wash over 375 cars with the help of 146 volunteers, raising over $14,040.
This year’s event looked to be a lot of fun for the crowds that swarmed the facility during the charity car wash. In addition to the car wash itself, Waterdown Collision provided a BBQ lunch for attendees. Clowns kept the kids entertained with balloons and face painting.
The hard work put in by Waterdown Collision and numerous volunteers, including some from Co-Auto Co-Operative, has paid off. This year, 206 volunteers washed 407 vehicles and raised $23,490 in just four hours. All proceeds from the event go to Cystic Fibrosis Canada.
