Washington, District of Columbia, United States — The CAR Coalition, a group of independent automotive parts and repair companies, associations and insurers committed to preserving customer choice has launched a multi-million dollar U.S. campaign in support of the right to repair movement and key legislative measures, including the Save Money on Auto Repair Transporation (SMART) Act.
The CAR Coalition believes the SMART Act will “empower consumers to choose quality, safe and affordable aftermarket parts, while still respecting the intellectual property rights of automakers.”
Introduced in the U.S. House on June 1, 2021, the SMART Act aims to expand consumer choice for automobile collision repair parts, decrease costs to both drivers and insurers and enhance competition in the automobile repair parts market—all while respecting the intellectual property rights of automakers, says the CAR Coalition.
The organization’s website will feature a microsite, display an informational video and include a “write your member of Congress” feature to push the CAR Coalition’s message to the government.
The CAR Coalition’s members include Automotive Body Parts Association (ABPA), CAPA Certified Auto Parts, Allstate Insurance, Ameca, LKQ Corporation, Autozone, KSI Auto Parts and more.
