Toronto, Ontario – The Collision Industry Electronic Commerce Association (CIECA) announced that Russ Sims has joined the organization’s board of trustees, according to a press release from Thursday.
Sims, who cut his teeth as a senior property and casualty claims consultant for Nationwide, joins the CIECA team in a new role where he will support the development of electronic data integration standards.
“Insurance companies, rental companies, body shops, and other collision industry players are all looking at the same picture from different angles,” said Sims. “Regardless of their perspective, they all need to work together to make sure their common customer receives the care and respect they deserve. Everyone benefits when we can all agree on a common method of communication.”
CIECAs executive director, Paul Barry, cited Sims’ decades of experience at Nationwide, starting in 1994 as a multi-line claims associate, as a key factor that led to the decision to take him on board.
“We welcome Russ to CIECA’s board of trustees,” said Paul Barry, CIECA’s executive director. “With his extensive background in claims handling and technology, he will be a valuable addition to the board.
