Barrie, Ontario — Would you be open to letting your customers access footage of what’s going on on your production floor? Well, one Barrie, Ont., service centre is. The service centre at Moffatt’s Mazda Barrie is documenting repairs on video and sending it to customers for “better peace of mind.”
“It allows customers to see and understand what’s going on with their vehicle,” explained Jay, a technician at Moffatt’s.
This service simply involves the service advisor filming a quick, 30-second video explaining what they’ve found on the customer’s vehicle. The clip is then sent to the customer via text or email. It can also be shared externally in case customers are seeking a second opinion.
“I love this,” one customer told CTV News Barrie last week. “It makes me feel good and it makes me feel safe when I drive out of here.”
“The first time we saw, we knew immediately it was going to be a game-changer in the way service is performed,” another staff member told CTV News. “It is absolutely transparent.”
“We think this will be the norm, going into the future, for most stores,” he added.
