Amsterdam, Netherlands — McLaren Racing and AkzoNobel have formed a new multi-year agreement, continuing the relationship between the two companies who first teamed up in 2008.
This multi-year partnership includes mutual offers of technical consultation, personnel exchanges and exploring opportunities for innovation.
Besides continuing as McLaren Racing’s exclusive coatings solutions partner, AkzoNobel is now a sustainability partner. AkzoNobel says this “heralds the start of a more integrated approach designed to go beyond the supply of high-performance coatings.”
“We’re incredibly proud and excited to be enhancing our relationship with such a long-standing and valued partner so that we can achieve more together,” said Patrick Bourguignon, managing director at AkzoNobel. “We’re also looking forward to incorporating our People. Planet. Paint. approach as we strive to play an active role in McLaren Racing’s sustainability journey.”
“We’re looking forward to taking this innovative and long-running relationship into a new chapter, taking a more integrated approach to development that will see AkzoNobel support us on our mission to become a more sustainable team,” said Matt Dennington, group director at McLaren Racing, said:
This year’s McLaren F1 car, MCL36, is due to launch in mid-February, with testing for the Bahrain Grand Prix 2022 scheduled to begin on Feb. 23.
