Toronto, Ontario — According to a recent MyChoice study highlighting the top 10 safest and most dangerous cities for driving in Ontario, Toronto is reportedly the safest in the province, while Brantford is the most dangerous.
When looking at the study, MyChoice internal data was specifically collected from more than 150,000 car insurance quotes from 2020 to 2024, including accident and infraction records.
As the reportedly safest city for driving in Ontario, Toronto scored a 4.5 out of 5 due to consistently low accidents and infraction rates.
Comparatively, Brantford scored just 0.7 out of 5 and reported both high accident and infraction rates. This was closely followed by Kingston at 0.7 out of 5, Burlington at 0.8 and Brampton at 1.1.
However, on the other end of the spectrum, following Toronto, East York, North York and Whitby all scored 4.2 out of 5 as the next safest cities in Ontario.
Overall, MyChoice determined that larger metropolitan areas in the province, on average, are safer for driving than mid-sized metropolitan areas.
