Toronto, Ontario — A service bulletin has been issued by General Motors to address the identification of cracks on the outer body panel of some dealer-owned 2023 Cadillac XT6 models.
The bulletin calls for technicians to inspect the area above the left-hand rear window for cracks, which can then be welded shut and painted over.
GM also specifies that technicians should not order from the GMCCA, but instead use a local body shop’s urethane window installation kit.
Technicians should also bear in mind that while the inspection takes only a few minutes, the crack repair is estimated by GM to take about 10 hours of labour time.
“The service bulletin was developed to support dealer inventory ahead of vehicle delivery to customers and it is unlikely a customer received an impacted vehicle,” said GM spokesperson Miesha Krueger.
“In the event a customer did receive an impacted vehicle, the repair would be covered under normal vehicle warranty.”
