Winnipeg, Manitoba — December 9, 2016 — The Boyd Group is inching closer to breaking its own record for acquisitions in a single year. The company has just announced the opening of three collision repair centres.
This brings the Boyd Group’s total number of facilities acquired in 2016 to 58. The company’s record year for acquisitions was 2014, with the addition of 61 locations to the group.
The new body shops are located in Florida, in the cities of Crestview, Fort Walton Beach and Panama City Beach. The stores had previously operated as Factory Spec Collision Centers. The newly acquired facilities will operate under the Gerber Collision & Glass trade name.
“These centres are great additions to our portfolio as they strengthen our presence in the northwest region of Florida, and complement our locations in Tallahassee and the New Orleans area,” said Tim O’Day, President and COO of the Boyd Group’s US operations. “We have established a leadership position in collision repair in Florida and intend to build on this to best serve our insurance partners and ensure the Gerber brand of professional and friendly service is available throughout Florida.”
The Boyd Group is headquartered in Winnipeg and has a large presence in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia. The company also operates Queensway Auto Body in Kitchener, Ontario. There are 49 autobody facilities in the company’s Canadian chain, including four centres in BC acquired in 2016.
The company’s US arm is significantly larger, consisting of 365 locations including Gerber Glass facilities.
