A new charity has joined the Car Heaven roster: Threads of Life, an organization that helps families of workplace tragedy along their journey of healing by providing support programs and services.
Threads of Life offers numerous supports to families coping with a workplace injury or fatality. The organization provides Volunteer Family Guides, all of whom have suffered similar tragedies in their own lives and regional Family Forums, allowing families to discuss their loss in a warm and welcoming environment. Threads of Life also organizes Steps for Life, an annual event held on the first Sunday in May to draw attention to the importance of injury prevention.
Car Heaven is a national charitable vehicle recycling program managed by auto recyclers authorized by Automotive Recyclers of Canada (ARC). All ARC members must follow a strict code of practice, meaning that all donated vehicles will be disassembled in accordance with strict environmental guidelines. Proceeds from each vehicle are donated to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Since 2000, the Car Heaven program has raised over $3,950,000.
