Toronto, Ontario — July 24, 2019 – Auto recycling facility, Thorold Auto Parts, hosted a charity car show on July 6, with late founder Lenny Serravalle in mind.
From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., car lovers and community members alike gathered at Thorold Auto Parts to check out rare cars and raise money for Spinal Cord Injury Ontario – a charity dedicated to advocating for and supporting Canadians who have sustained spinal cord injuries.
Founder Lenny Serravelle sustained a spinal cord injury in 1997 that left him paraplegic, passing his business down to his son Frank Serravelle. When Lenny passed away earlier this January, and Frank was faced with having to decide which charity to donate to. the answer was clear.
“It was the moment my life changed completely,” said Serravalle.
Known for innovative and environmentally sustainable recycling practices, Thorold Auto Parts is not only focused on helping the earth but the community.
The car show, open to the public, featured many classic and exotic cars, such as the Ford Mustangs, as well as an Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio.
Attendees could also enter 50/50 raffles, enjoy a delicious lunch, and vote for People’s Choice top car while kids spent their afternoon bouncing on a giant bouncy council that facility had rented out.
“Everyone [was] welcome to soak in the fabulous cars, and choose their favourites,” said marketing coordinator, Emma Cosby-Costiff.
The event also featured many volunteers, happy to help out and collect donations towards the charity. The show raised more than $770 dollars.
“We hope everyone can make it out next year to our 2020 car show!” stated Thorold Auto Parts
