Toronto, Ontario — Genesis left its mark on this year’s AJAC awards as the luxury automaker came away with five awards, making them the most awarded brand for 2022.
All told, the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada gave out three awards to different Genesis models, while two innovation awards were bestowed on some of the company’s proprietary technology.
The 2022 AJAC awards won by Genesis are as follows:
- Best Small Premium Car in Canada for 2022, Genesis G70;
- Best Mid-Size Premium Utility Vehicle in Canada for 2022, Genesis GV70;
- Best Large Premium Utility Vehicle in Canada for 2022, Genesis GV80;
- Best Technical Innovation Award in 2022, Genesis In-vehicle fingerprint reader; and
- Best Safety Innovation Award in 2022, Genesis Radar-based Rear Occupant Alert.
“For a brand to be recognized on five different occasions in one year by AJAC is no small feat,” said AJAC president Stephanie Wallcraft.
“AJAC’s jurors are the largest collective of automotive experts in the country, and every one of them strives daily to be as impartial and broadly informed as possible. Dozens of objective expert opinions went into naming Genesis as the winner in these categories, and the entire Genesis team deserves to be very proud.”
The GV70 and GV80 were new additions to the Genesis lineup in the 2021 model year.
