Toronto, Ontario — “Surround yourself with the dreamers and the doers, the believers, and thinkers—but most of all, surround yourself with those who see greatness in you.”
This is one of Dave Luehr’s favourite quotes, and a big part of what he discussed during his June 23 webinar, The Sixth Secret: Leveraging the Power of the Mastermind.
This month’s Elite Bodyshop webinar—featuring Luehr himself as host and presenter—discussed the six internal challenges businesses should tackle to position themselves on a path to greatness, with a heavy focus on building connections with like-minded industry members.
Luehr told the audience if you think small, you will be small—but if you think big, you will grow your business. He added, however, that surrounding yourself with the right groups of people can make a huge difference in your level of success you are able to achieve.
“By keeping a positive attitude and the right company, you are limitless,” said Luehr.
There are many different types of peer groups collision repair business owners can join, says Luehr, including industry associations, local business clubs, social media groups, franchises and networks, 20 Groups and Mastermind Groups.
Luehr also provided clear standards as to what makes a good peer group, including: great members, clear expectations and mission, trust between members, great facilitation, structure and time management, coaching elements, positivity, accountability, encouragement, independence and performance measurement (KPIs, etc).
Luehr ended the webinar by encouraging business owners who are hungry for success to join the Elite Mastermind groups, a virtual peer group for high-performing collision repairers.
