Toronto, Ontario — CARSTAR Stouffville proudly celebrated its participation at this year’s Motorama Custom Car and Motorsports Expo—hosted at the International Centre in Toronto, Ontario from March 7 to 9—by showcasing its restored 1966 Chevy II Nova SS.
The beloved family vehicle was recognized with several prestigious awards, solidifying its status as a top competitor in the custom car scene. The team placed in the top 10 for the Grand Champion final, won the Hagerty Class award and the Best First Time Shown Street Machine title.”
“We are thrilled to unveil our now award-winning 1966 Chevy II Nova SS at the 2024 Motorama Custom Car and Motorsports Expo,” said Patrick Savella, general manager, CARSTAR Stouffville. “This event provides the perfect platform to showcase our passion for our commitment to automotive craftsmanship.
“It’s more personal for us as well because not only is this car the epitome of classic American muscle, it also carries with it a family history that adds a unique layer of significance. We are immensely proud of the accolades our restoration work has received and are grateful for the support of our team and sponsors.”
In regards to a unique family history, Patrick’s father—also named Patrick—cherished this vehicle since he was 18 years old. Over the years, the car became a beloved member of the family, witnessing countless cherished moments—from routine trips to the grocery store to joyful rides to school and friends’ houses.
However, as life unfolded and Pat dedicated himself to supporting his family’s needs, the car found its place in the garage for 35 years, patiently awaiting its next chapter.
When the pandemic disrupted lives worldwide in early 2020, Patrick and his father were granted a rare gift of time amid their commitment to keeping their doors open. They seized this opportunity to embark on a journey they had long dreamed of, restoring their treasured family vehicle. The restoration process spanned two and a half years.
“Attending the 2024 Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo and witnessing the unveiling of the Savella’s award-winning work was inspiring,” said Collin Welsh, Zone Director, CARSAR. “This vehicle represents the culmination of dedication, passion, and a deep appreciation for automotive craftsmanship, and this team was incredibly deserving of all their accolades. Congratulations to the Savella’s and the whole CARSTAR Stouffville team for this tremendous achievement!”
Collision Repair magazine would like to extend congratulations to the team at CARSTAR Stouffville on their successful Motorama event.
