Toronto, Ontario — The Collision Industry Conference (CIC) has released the agenda for this year’s event, set to take place via Zoom from July 22 to 23, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“This health crisis is impacting the collision industry just as much as any other industry, and it’s important we meet to continue our committee work, said Jeff Peevy, CIC chairman. “There’s no doubt the COVID response will be an included topic, but there are many more items on the agenda related to repair processes and technologies. The industry is still changing and we want to stay at the forefront of those discussions.”
Day one will begin at 11 a.m. with a welcome address from CIC chairman Jeff Peevy before leading into a seminar from CIC’s Emerging Technologies Committee on new industry technology.
Following the presentation, attendees will be permitted to ask their questions via a virtual ‘open mic.
At 12:40 p.m., Gene Lopez and Josh McFarlin of the Education and Talent Pool committee will discuss the recent merger between the two committees and its upcoming plans.
At 1 p.m., the Emerging Technologies Committee will return to the screen to discuss steering column inspections and published inaccuracies, followed by a presentation from the Parts and Materials committee on what parts are called and how they are defined. This panel will include both estimating platforms and parts platforms as we discuss how parts are addressed within each individual system.
Day two will kick off at 11 a.m. on July 23 with more opening comments, followed by another presentation from the Emerging Technologies Committee to discuss ADAS best recommended practices
At 1:15 p.m., CIC’s Data Access, Privacy and Security Committee will discuss a suggested set of guidelines which it says all companies in the collision industry should consider adopting.
To wrap up day two, self-proclaimed industry disruptor Frank Terlep, along with Jake Rodenroth of asTech of the newly-developed Future Disruptions Committee will join the broadcast to discuss the mission, goals and objectives of the committee and overview of future trends, technologies, disruptions, business models and concepts that will directly affect all industry segments within the next five to 10 years.
