Toronto, Ontario — March 5, 2019 — Among its much-anticipated news, that Tesla’s Model 3 will be selling for $35,000, the electric vehicle carmaker also announced that it will be investing in same-day if not same-hour repair services.
Last Thursday Tesla announced the new price of its Model 3, with more features, as well as the new online platform of how they would be selling them. To accomplish these costs, the OEM stated that they would be shutting down a large majority of its dealerships and shifting to an online platform instead.
Tesla then followed the announcement by stating that they would be investing more of its money into the service system. “At the same time, we will be increasing our investment in the Tesla service system, with the goal of same-day, if not same-hour service, and with most service done by us coming to you, rather than you coming to us. Moreover, we guarantee service availability anywhere in any country in which we operate.”
As a result, Tesla has updated its app to show the status of the vehicle being serviced. It includes notifications when a car is ready to be picked up and estimated completion times.
It’s tough to say that same-hour or same-day repairs will be completed for any busy shop, but if customers can view the status of their repairs through an app, it might save repairers more time off the phone updating customers.
