Toronto, Ontario — Toyota’s in-house auto insurance division has officially made its way into California, marking the ninth U.S. state to receive the Japanese automaker’s “customizable coverage” insurance offerings.
The company said further expansion of Toyota Auto Insurance (TAI) will be seen in the coming months, with plans to integrate Oregon, Georgia and Colorado into the OEM’s network.
“Toyota Auto Insurance offers customers quality, customizable coverage at affordable rates, and is seamlessly integrated into the vehicle ownership experience, making it easy to obtain and use,” said Toyota spokesperson, Derrick Justin Brown.
“That includes combining with Toyota vehicle benefits such as Toyota Care, which includes roadside assistance, so customers won’t pay for something their Toyota already provides. Furthermore, Toyota Auto Insurance is customizable based on how customers use their Toyota vehicle and their lifestyle. Toyota Auto Insurance customers receive premier service and have instant access to customer service resources.”
With TAI comes access to a self-service claims portal, according to Brown, where customers are able to submit claims electronically and review the status of their repair, among other features.
Perhaps most of note to collision repairers is the fact that the platform searches for genuine replacement parts for both Toyotas and other brands when available.
“This gives customers peace of mind, knowing their vehicle retains the same high-quality materials as when they purchased the vehicle. All our customers receive best-in-class service and have instant access to customer service resources,” said Brown.
Collision Repair reached out to Toyota to confirm whether there are any plans to expand TAI to Canada, but representatives have yet to respond as of publishing.
