Montreal, Quebec – July 25, 2017 – AkzoNobel has announced the promotion of Sylvain Séguin to the position of Vehicle Refinishes Canadian Country Manager. His position became effective July 24, 2017 at which time he also become a member of the North American Vehicle Refinishes Management Team. Séguin succeeds David Smith in the position. Smith now fills the role of Eastern Region Sales Leader in the United States.
“The Canadian market is extremely important to AkzoNobel,” said Doug Holmberg, Business Director for AkzoNobel Vehicle Refinishes North America. “Sylvain, who reported to Dave, has proven himself to be a strong, results driven leader and we are looking forward to continued success.”
Séguin has deep experience in the industry. He began his career working at the shop level and quickly climbed the corporate ladder, with various positions with AkzoNobel’s Vehicle Refinishes unit, such as Key Account Manager and District Sales Leader.

In his new role, Séguin will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies in the Canadian market place while leading the team to deliver results.
