Kamloops, British Columbia — In the effort of breaking down the barriers of gender in our industry, Thompson Rivers University has announced its Women in Trades Exploratory Program, set to kick off in September.
Students accepted into the program will learn the basics of welding and automotive technician work, on top of a number of experiential learning opportunities in other Red Seal trades, like carpentry or culinary arts.
The 12-week program will run until December and aims to encourage students to further enrol in foundational or apprenticeship programs at the school.
Applicants must be residents of British Columbia, not full-time students and be able to provide a recent resume and one to two paragraphs describing why you would like to participate in the program.
Potential students can email witt@tru.ca to apply.
