Calgary, Alberta — For the second year, the MK Auto Group will be providing complimentary vehicle cleanings to frontline workers from Alberta Health Services and local fire departments until June 30, 2021.
“When the pandemic hit last year, we wanted to do what we could to give back to our community during this incredibly challenging time,” said Mark Kharfan, owner of MK Auto Group. “We hosted food drives for our local food banks and offered this free detailing service to our hardworking frontline workers. These gestures, which seemed small, were met with an overwhelmingly positive response, so we are excited to continue these programs this year.”
As well as providing car washes, MK Auto Group will also be accepting donations and non-perishable food items at its CARSTAR locations for the Airdrie Food Bank, Calgary Food Bank, Okotoks Food Bank and High River Food Bank.
This initiative comes at a time when other local businesses may be struggling, said Kharfan.
“It’s about doing our part as local business owners,” said Kharfan. “At an unfortunate time when many companies have to lay off their employees, these initiatives give us the ability to keep our team together while still helping those in need.”
MK Auto Group hopes to make this initiative an annual event, to recognize the hard work that frontline workers provide their community.
