Toronto, Ontario — Solera is enhancing Qapter Estimating by permitting collision centres and insurers to determine blend refinish labour calculations based on their specific mix of repairs and market conditions, the company announced in a bulletin to its partners.
Solera is adding a blend refinish calculator at the partner profile level, enabling users to negotiate a blend rare alongside other labour rates and fees.
“There’s been tremendous change in car design and refinish formulations. The process that’s been used was ideal for a long time—but now, we need more flexibility,” Bill Brower, interim head of claims sales for Solera, told Collision Repair over the phone.
Further, every estimate generated through Qapter will include a footnote that displays the blend calculations used for each repair. Also, when an estimator manually adjusts blend labour to something other than the pre-set value for the specific customers to meet a specific need, denoted by an asterisk to indicate when the estimator has manually entered a blend rate.
This new profile option is scheduled to be included in Solera’s Q4 2023 product enhancement release.
“We are diligently working to ensure that this update meets the highest standards of quality and usability. As always, we remain commited to delivering solutions that empower you and contribute to your continued growth and success,” wrote Solera in a bulletin to shops.
