Phoenix, Arizona — Phoenix, Arizona was a little more colourful last week as the Wesco Group and Color Compass Corporation held their inaugural International Conference.
Previously, Color Compass held similar type meetings annually, though on a much smaller scale. This was the first time the meetings became a joint conference since Color Compass joined the Wesco Group in October of 2018.
With more than 100 Wesco and Color Compass staff in attendance, the meetings provided opportunities to come together as industry stakeholders, meet with key vendors and discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the industry, both regionally and on either side of the border.
The meetings were spread over four days, with the highlight—aside from the warm weather—being a vendor ‘rodeo’ tradeshow.
At the rodeo, the Wesco and Color Compass teams were broken down into 30 smaller groups, each having 15 minutes to meet one-on-one with the 30 participating vendors. The event was set-up like a round of speed-dating; if there was a spark, additional time was available during the week to follow-up.
With positive feedback from everyone involved, the plan is to continue the larger-scale conference in the future.
