Detroit, Michigan — The crown jewel of North American auto shows will be making its return later on this year, as details about the 2022 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, Mich. have officially been unveiled.
The show will feature a familiar amount of fanfare in the return of ride-alongs through a downtown course, while also taking things into the future by placing focus on electric vehicles and other forms of emerging automotive technology.
Detroit’s Huntington Place convention centre will also be fitted with five indoor tracks in addition to the sold-out main show floor, which will feature more than 80 tech companies, tier one suppliers and start-ups
“This year’s auto show plays a vitally important role in promoting emerging technologies particularly in the EV space,” said NAIAS executive director Rod Alberts in a statement from Tuesday.
“With the show’s exciting transformation, it was the ideal time to introduce fresh branding for what will be a Detroit auto show experience unlike any other before.”
The 2022 North American International Auto Show is set to run in Detroit from Sept. 17 to 25.
The show has been on hold since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
