Ottawa, Ontario — Nissan said Monday that it would be recalling more than 230,000 Sentra units in the United States, plus 20,135 units in Canada, because front steering tie-rods can warp and break.
This recall covers certain 2020-2022 models; versions of the vehicle first introduced in 2019. Each tie-rod end connects the steering rack to the respective wheel.
In a document to the NHTSA, Nissan states that, if the tie-rods are bent, they can be damaged, deformed and potential affect the efficiency of steering, increasing the risk of an accident.
The OEM said that owners should contact their dealer should they notice their steering wheel is not centred, or if they feel vibration while driving.
This is the second time Nissan has recalled Sentra models for this steering issue. The OEM recalled nearly 13,000 vehicles for the problem in 2021.

Just bought 2020 Sentra from its dealership here in Peterborough Ont. Vin # on this car reads as followes….. 3N1AB8BV5LY205378. Not sure being told whole truth asfter reading different recall web sites also. As mentioned above ,owners are experiencing a vibration on the steering wheel like your driving over a low speed bump. Told when they did saftey and they noted on the slip that a bushing of bearing is on recall back-order and needs changing when it arrives. That was three weeks ago. Recalls only mention this inner tie rod problem and nothing about a bushing or bearing. I am afraid this car is unsafe unlike Iwas told as far as driving. Get this vibration about every ten minutes on average. Can someone check with their local honest dealership and see what pops up. Thanks a bunch!
