It was a stunning tribute to a true champion of the industry. Industry stakeholders came together recently for the fifth and final Rick Berg Invitational Golf Tournament. The tournament was held to honour Berg’s memory and to help raise awareness and research funding for epilepsy.
Berg passed away suddenly in his sleep in April 2010 when he was 47 years old. He was known to many in the industry through his work for 3M Canada and his seat on the Automotive Industries Association board of directors. Although he had lived with epilepsy for many years, there was no warning that his life would be tragically cut short by the disease.
The tournament took place at the Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, Ontario. All proceeds will go towards the ongoing operation of The Rick Berg House, home of Epilepsy Support Centre, and The Rick Berg Legacy Fund.
