Calgary, Alberta – With the help of its industry partners, colleagues and community members CARSTAR Calgary Downtown has been collecting recyclables for a bottle drive in support of a local animal shelter in Cochrane, Alberta.
Crystin Bulai, general manager of CARSTAR Calgary Downtown, began this initiative with the help of her team by collaborating with affiliate locations, vendor partners and the community of friends and family to collect recyclables.
“Crystin truly led this initiative, collecting and sorting recyclables from around the city in her own time to help us raise this incredible amount of money,” says Shane Daerden, Owner, CARSTAR Calgary Downtown. “Garcia Rescue runs solely on donations and volunteer time, so any support goes a long way.”
The chosen recipient, Garcia Rescue, is a small animal shelter/rescue aimed at providing animals a warm and safe place to recuperate while they wait to find their fur-ever home. The organization relies heavily on donations and accepts monetary contributions along with goods such as dog food, leashes, collars, kennels and much more.
“We were so excited to present our donation but even more so when the team showed up with some friendly pets to say, ‘thank you’,” continued Daerden. “This was a wonderful way for us to kick off the holiday season and we look forward to continue giving back to our communities in need.”
