Toronto, Ontario — August 22, 2019 — AIA Canada has released the 2019 Canadian Collision Industry Yearbook, which is available for purchase online today for $495. A free executive summary has also been released.
“AIA Canada is proud to present the third edition of the Canadian Collision Industry Yearbook, gathering together relevant data for the Canadian collision sector in one place to provide valuable and insightful information,” the association wrote in an online post, “Published every two years, the 2019 yearbook is a must-have resource for strategic business planning and for those looking to learn more about the collision repair industry in Canada.”
With information drawn from hundreds of hours of research, the 2019 edition aims to provide industry business leaders with an in-depth summary of the state of Canada’s collision sector.
According to its findings, there are now slightly more collision facilities in operation in Canada than in 2017–with 5,000, compared to 4,957. According to the AIA, the last time there were more than 5,000 Canadian collision facilities was in 2013–in the first edition of the Yearbook.
Employment in the collision sector is also up, with 23,144 people, up from 22,311 in 2017, indicating that while labour shortages are still significant, the problem is no longer as acute as it was in the mid-2010s.
