Toronto, Ontario — American collision repairers must now get on the Audatex agenda when repairing Tesla vehicles going forward, as the automaker’s insurance wing announced a partnership with Audatex to use their Qapter platform on all Tesla insurance claims.
Tesla Approved Collision Centers (TACC) were notified of the change through an email sent out in late November.
This update is expected to only affect TACC’s in California and Texas, as they are the only two states to sell Tesla Insurance policies. Tesla Insurance is not offered in Canada in any form.
In the email, a Tesla spokesperson said that the partnership “will allow Tesla Insurance and TACC repair facilities to quickly generate accurate estimates, improve overall cycle time, increase productivity, enhance Tesla’s compliance management program, and deliver best-in-class service to our mutual customers.”
The insurer promised that it would “actively engage with our TACC partners along with the Audatex team to ensure a smooth transition to Qapter.” TACC facilities will begin receiving assignments via Audatex no later the Jan. 17, the email states.
Tesla’s email did not specify what, if any, provisions might be made for one of its member shops that do not currently have an Audatex subscription, but said that Audatex would begin contacting TACC facilities on Dec. 9 “to initiate contracting and discuss fees, setup and training requirements.”
Audatex launched Qapter in North American and European markets on March 1 of this year.
