Toronto, Ontario — Toyota is recalling 11, 576 older Prius hybrids in Canada due to a powertrain defect that could lead to the cars suddenly stalling.
Prius models from 2013 to 2015 and Prius v models from 2014 to 2017 are cited in the recall. A total of 752,000 cars are affected worldwide.
Toyota will update the hybrid software in all affected vehicles, and will replace the powertrain if a fault led to an inverter failure.
Owners of involved vehicles will be notified by late August 2020.
