Presenting Procedure: Rivian to present how procedure development and testing affect repair outcomes at SEMA 2024

Las Vegas, Nevada — Rivian has announced that it will present training on the process an automaker takes to research, develop, validate and publish new repair procedures during the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) OEM Collision Repair Technology Summit at this year’s 2024 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.

According to SEMA show descriptions, “OEM Summit Session One: The Value of OEM Repair Information” will specifically “offer attendees the opportunity to learn how vehicles, materials, technologies and trends are evolving in ways that will impact repair processes and repair businesses.”

The session will be led by Rivian research, engineering, service and collision teams at 12:30 p.m. on November 7, 2024 and will specifically feature speakers David Sosa, Dan Black and Kelly Logan. It is the first of three OEM Repair Technology Summit Sessions.

Additionally, during the session, a case study will be presented that focuses on the developmental life cycle of the front frame rail section concept. Notably, the session will discuss how through field data, it was determined by the automaker that the front frame rail could incur damage even in low speed impact and that the market could benefit from a safe and cost-effective alternative to a complete “skateboard” replacement.
