Toronto, Ontario — The Canadian Collision Industry Forum (CCIF) kicks off on Thursday at the International Centre in Mississauga, Ont.—and Collision Repair is your guide to the can’t-miss speakers and presentations the forum is set to offer.
The much-anticipated event will kick off today, Thursday, Jan. 30 at Mississauga’s International Centre, Hall 5.
A showcase featuring more than 50 exhibitors will begin at 4 p.m. on Thursday and will feature companies like 3M, BASF, Car-Part.com, Color Compass Corporation, SATA, the Tropicana Employment Centre and Uniselect. For a full list of exhibitors, click here.
The showcase will continue on Friday and is open from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Friday’s full-day schedule will start at 7 a.m. with registration and a breakfast spread, followed by a welcome address from Caroline Lacasse, CCIF director at 8:30 a.m.
Paul Prochilo, CEO of Simplicity Car Care and the 2020/2021 CCIF chair will then deliver his opening remarks before handing off the mic to Patrice Marcil of Axalta Coating Systems, who will update attendees on the state of the Industry-Education Connection project.
At 9:15 a.m., International Bodyshop Industry Symposium CEO Jason Moseley will deliver his talk, titled ‘A World of Opportunity’ to give his insights from the global collision repair industry, including key insights from the most recent IBIS in China, which took place in December.
Daniel Chudy, a collision repairer, automotive painter and professor at Centennial College’s School of Transportation will then take to the stage for a ‘Test Your Knowledge’ presentation and speak about collision repair training in colleges.
Following Chudy, executive coach and award-winning keynote speaker Craig Dowden will deliver his ‘What Makes People Tick?’ talk to share his tips on how collision repair facilities can succeed in their quests to find, fit and retain business-critical talent.
Next, Justin Jakubiak, one of the few Ontario lawyers whose practice focuses on automotive and dealership law and a recent feature in Collision Repair magazine will speak about the law and liability of the repair process. Jakubiak’s 15 years of experience allows him to assist clients with a variety of matters and he is expected to speak on topics like licensing, litigation, compliance audits, business financing agreements and more.
In his ‘Make More Money’ presentation, Steve Trapp of Axalta Coating Systems will discuss how your shop can optimize its gross profit. Trapp will also host a workshop on the same topic on Thursday evening beginning at 4 p.m.—be sure to register by emailing info@ccif.ca Participation is $100 per person.
After Trapp’s presentation, Daniel Chudy will return to the stage for another round of ‘Test Your Knowledge,’ followed by the conference’s closing remarks by Paul Prochilo at 3:30 p.m.
