Mississauga, Ontario — October 28, 2014 — There will be plenty to take in at the PPG Automotive Refinish booth at this year’s SEMA Show, taking place November 4 to 7 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. PPG says its booth, 24501, will be filled with stunning cars and motorcycles showing off the latest, most vibrant designs and paint schemes in the custom build world.
PPG will also present work from some of the industry’s most talented designers and painters, including several from PPG. Adding to the excitement, PPG has arranged for an all-star cast of painters and racing world celebrities to greet booth visitors, sign autographs, and talk about their work.
PPG will present remarkable cars, bikes and a boat, including:
– A 1942 Willys Gasser built by Ron Cambra of Cambra Speed Shop, Orange, California. The all-steel body is finished in varying tones of copper pearls and transparent toners sprayed over a black base using the Envirobase High Performance waterborne system. PPG master painter Paul Stoll applied his talents to the project.
– Josh Bourassa’s “Predasaurus,†a monster of a motorcycle that lives up to its name. An enthusiast’s dream project, it’s finished in radiant green tones accomplished with the PPG Deltron system. Bourassa built the bike at his shop, True Kustom, in Englewood, Colorado. Bourassa is also presenting other examples of his work.
Bobby Alloway’s 1956 Porsche 356A Coupe. Customized and painted at Alloway’s Hot Rod Shop in Louisville, Tennessee, the sportster gleams with Alloway’s signature deep black finish achieved with PPG Deltron products.
– A Harley-Davidson Road Glide painted by bike specialist Brian Horstmann of Sinthium, Inc., Phoenix, Arizona. The impressive PPG finish is a dark candy purple with silver metallic flake. The edgy graphics were airbrushed and pinstriped by Horstmann. He will also have some of his other work on display.
– Roger and Chantel Welch’s boat. Yes, a boat. The sleek 18-foot Sanger Picklefork Ski Hydro is painted, appropriately enough, with the Envirobase High Performance waterborne system and sports a finish of yellow, white, red, orange and black candy and pearl colors. The work was done by Krazy Kolors By Billy B, Upland, California. The boat has appeared at nine car shows and cruised away with a few awards
PPG artists who will have their work on display include Jim Kvatek, Jeff Matauch, Frank Ramos, Mark Ridgely, Jeremy Seanor, John Snyder, Chris Springer, and Paul Stoll.
Quite a few notables from the wild and colorful custom car world will be making stops as well:
