Kelowna, British Columbia — When Lift Auto Group brings a new shop into its fold, it does not simply come with four walls, a ceiling and some equipment, but with a promise that the legacy of its former owner will live on; to that end, Methal Abougoush can rest assured that his annual Father’s Day Charity Car Show will live on under CSN management.
With the sale of Abougoush’s five Boyd Autobody and Glass locations this past year, representatives from Lift Auto Group and CSN Collision Centres wanted to ensure that the “positive legacy” left on the Okanagan community will carry on into the future.
In this case, that “positive legacy” takes shape as an annual Father’s Day car show that collects donations for the Kelowna’s Child Advocacy Centre (CAC), having raised more than $250,000 over the past five years.
“Actively engaging in a community for more than two decades gives you a deep understanding of what it needs and where,” Abougoush said in a press release.
“The services CAC offers are invaluable to so many people. Along with Lift, I am thrilled to offer continued support to CAC executive director Ginny Becker and the team at the CAC.”
Becker, for her part, said she is excited to see CSN picking up the torch where Abougoush left off.
“The fact that Lift Auto Group has jumped in to pick up where this story left off is extraordinary,” Becker said. “We are beyond excited to see the car show come back and to continue partnering on this amazing event.”
Head of Lift Group, president and CEO Mark Reineking said “We recognize that originally this car show was about doing something fun for the community, by bringing families and car enthusiasts together, but over time has grown to become much more than that.
“The car show is an exceptional way to create awareness and community support for a vital organization like the CAC, and Lift is honoured to carry on the tradition pioneered by Methal.”
The event will be called the CSN Collision Centres Father’s Day Charity Car Show going forward.
