Saskatoon, Saskatchewan — April 13, 2017 — Htoo Hta, an apprentice at Parr Auto Body in Saskatoon, has won the gold medal for post-secondary Autobody Repair at the 2017 Saskatchewan Provincial Skills Competition. The Autobody Repair competition took place at the CNH Training Centre in Saskatoon.
As the gold medalist, Hta will represent Saskatchewan at the Canadian National Skills Competition (CNSC). The CNSC takes place May 31 to June 3 in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Francis Shlimoon of Saskatchewan Polytechnic won the silver medal in post-secondary Autobody Repair.
The Saskatchewan Skills Competition included a separate Autobody Repair competition for secondary students. The medal winners for the secondary competition were Austin Smith (gold), Andrew Abbott (silver) and Jayden Cooke (bronze).
This year’s Car Painting competition took place at Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s Saskatoon Campus, with Nathan Whitehead taking the gold medal, followed by John Keller with the silver.
