Michigan, United States — General Motors (GM) is proud to announce that its dealerships have added a new service to their portfolio—Tesla repairs.
On Nov. 17 during the Detroit automaker’s Investor Day, GM president, Mark Reuss announced to investors that Tesla repairs have become a growing segment of the business, with more than 11,000 Teslas having been repaired by GM dealers since 2021, across the United States.
Part of this stems from Tesla’s avoidance of the dealership system, resulting in slower repairs. This may be a result of Tesla focusing on a direct sales model and operating its own service centres, leading to fewer shops being able to service Teslas at all.
This unique partnership model benefits everyone involved—GM gets a new revenue stream, and Tesla provides its customers a better service experience through shorter repair times for its customers.
