Blainville, Quebec — Fix Network will be taking a place at centre ice as the company announced that its president and CEO, Steve Leal, has been named as the potential new majority owner of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan hockey team, playing out of Bathurst, N.B. in the QMJHL.
A passionate fan of the sport, and a former player himself, Leal says that he wants to be a part of improving an already strong hockey community in Bathurst and, putting to bed persistent relocation rumours, he says he has no plans on moving the team out of the city.
“We are committed to keeping the team in the community for the foreseeable future. There are no plans to take hockey out of Acadie-Bathurst,” said Leal.
“Bathurst deserves great hockey and a team they can support. We are dedicated to building a stronger foundation for hockey in the community.”
Leal said he also plans for Fix Auto to be the team’s primary sponsor for the next five seasons and is calling on other members of the automotive aftermarket community to help support his new venture.
According to Fix Network’s Monday press release, Leal is currently in the middle of conducting an operations review of the team as part of due diligence.
Acadie-Bathurst Titan is preparing for its twenty-fifth anniversary season when regular season play kicks off in September.
