Florence, Alabama — March 15, 2017 — Many professional automotive recyclers take umbrage at the term “junkyard.” The very word implies that is being collected and sold is junk. For the founders of PartCycle Technologies, Andy Alonso and Brandon Gillis, junk is a four-letter word, both figuratively and literally.
PartCycle is an e-commerce marketplace created specifically for the auto parts industry. The company’s founders lay out the difference between a modern automotive recycling facility and a junkyard in a video recently uploaded to YouTube.
“To be honest, I’m tired of the word ‘junk’ and it’s time that we showed people that there’s a difference between a junkyard and a professional auto recycler,” says Alonso during the video.
The video outlines some of the processes in place at a modern auto recycling facility in upstate New York, Wilbert’s Premium Recycled Parts. The video shows how Wilbert’s inventories and cleans parts, as well as showing the rows and rows of high-quality recycled auto parts.
“We are proud to support an industry that has such a huge impact on our environment,” says Gillis. “Using recycled parts is the purest form of recycling and saves our customers money. Everyone wins.”
