Toronto, Ontario — October 23, 2018 — Just last year a group of Cobourg and Port Hope dealerships in Eastern Ontario joined forces to invest, build and operate their own collision centre, Northumberland Collision Centre.
The goal was to merge customer care with state-of-the-art equipment to ensure top quality collision work and continuing customer satisfaction.
On Oct. 18, industry and community people joined together to celebrate the grand opening of the new venture.
Around 150 people gathered during the event on Thursday to tour this facility and converse with shop management, staff and various vendors.
Dealer principals, dealership personnel, insurance brokerage staff and even a member of provincial parliament were in attendance.
Northumberland has been working hard to achieve various OEM collision centre certifications and are happy to announce that they are now certified for Nissan, FCA and Kia, as well as one of the newest members of Consolidated Collision Services network.
Kurtis Stoker, the shop manager, told Collision Repair people the new facility is “completely clean, always maintained and shows what a twenty-first century collision centre should look like.”
The original facility, Cal Kor Auto Collision, was family operated by Kor Stoker and his son Kurtis Stoker. Kor and Kurtis joined the dealership owners and merged their business into the new collision centre, Northumberland Collision Centre.
The collision shop is located just off Division St. in Cobourg. The dealerships involved include Vandermeer Toyota; Lauria Hyundai and Lauria Volkswagen; Cobourg Honda, Cobourg Mazda; Thomas Buick GMC; Cobourg Nissan.
