Hamilton, Ontario — March 7, 2016 — Cybersecurity and connected cars will be the main topics during the next Guild 21 Conference Call. The call is open to all members of industry and takes place Thursday, March 10 at 2 p.m. EST.
The guest for the call will be John Ellis, founder and Managing Director of Ellis & Associates. Ellis consults on the intersection of connectivity, automobiles, software and consumers. During the call, he will look at cybersecurity and connected cars in the age of the “Internet of Things” and examine the challenge of repairing vehicles in this new era.
Prior to founding Ellis & Associates, Ellis was Global Technologist and Head of the Ford Developer Program with Ford Motor Company. Ellis and his team delivered a number of automotive industry firsts including SmartDeviceLink, the open source version of Ford’s award-winning AppLink technology.
Ellis spent much of his career at Motorola where he held key leadership positions in engineering, product management, software and services, marketing and strategy. He was also a designer and lead instructor for the Connected Vehicle Professional certificate course and has served as an adjunct professor at Notre Dame University.
