Winnipeg, Manitoba — August 20, 2015 — A new prep course for the Red Seal exam is coming to Winnipeg in October. Candidates writing the trades license exam as an Auto Body and Collision Damage Repairer (Red Seal) are urged to consider the course if they have worked the hours but lack formal instruction, have never finished apprenticeship, have previously failed the exam, or could simply use some preparation.
In some provinces, 76 percent of all challengers of the exam fail the first time. This preparatory course is designed to provide the help and instruction needed to allow for successful better completion and passing the exam for students.
This is a full five day course, taught by an experienced collision repair instructor.
Training dates are scheduled for Monday, October 19 to Friday October 23, 2015. Classes take place from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.
Also offered is Basic Estimating, a two day class on Thursday October 15, 2015 and Friday October 16, 2015. This class is eligible for 4 I-CAR Canada points.
The Basic Estimating collision repair training course is designed to help shop or office employees, new estimators and insurance company staff who may need assistance in estimating collision damage on cars and light trucks in Manitoba.
This full two-day course includes introduction to estimating, understanding vehicle construction, fundamentals of estimate writing understanding collision manuals, additional charges and collision damage analysis. “Not included” procedures will be highlighted.
Employers may be eligible for a 2/3rds course cost rebate from the Canada Manitoba Job Grant program for either course. You must register early to be considered for the grant.
This training is being offered in co-operation with ATA Manitoba by the Ontario collision repair association, CIIA.
The Certificate of Qualification exam prep course is $900 plus HST. The Basic Estimating Collision Repair training course is $650 plus HST. Please note that ATA Manitoba association members automatically receive a $200 discount on each course.
