New portal helps shops connect with skilled staff

The new CollisionCommunity.com will serve as a portal for hiring, training opportunities and much more!
Peterborough, Ontario — September 5, 2016 — Matching talent with opportunity in the collision repair industry just got a lot easier. Media Matters, Inc. has officially launched CollisionCommunity.com, a new online portal dedicated to the collision repair industry and designed to help collision repair facilities find the skilled tradespeople they need.

The new online community also highlights training opportunities and educational resources, to help technicians and painters maintain and develop their skills.

Media Matters, Inc. is well-known in the industry as the publishers of Collision Repair magazine, Bodyworx Professional, Canadian Auto Recyclers and the Collision Repair Daily eZine. Company president Darryl Simmons believes the new site will be of great benefit to the entire auto claims economy.

“During the 15 years we’ve been publishing Collision Repair magazine, our readers have consistently highlighted both the need to find talented people and the need for continuous training as their top concerns,” Simmons says. “In building CollisionCommunity.com, we’re taking a proactive approach to helping the collision industry with both of those issues.”

Simmons notes that there is another challenge that is often top of mind for collision repair professionals: recruiting new people into the collision and autobody industry.

CollisionCommunity.com also serves as an introduction to the collision repair field for students and other interested parties. There are great careers to be made in collision repair, but the sad fact is that a lot of students and adults don’t know enough about it to make informed decisions,” Simmons says. “The modern collision repair industry is a high-tech business, with opportunities both on and off the production floor. The new site will help to showcase those opportunities and highlight the great careers available in this field.”

CollisionCommunity.com is now online. You can check it out for yourself at collisioncommunity.com
