Winnipeg, Manitoba — The Boyd Group announced some movement of staff on Friday, announcing that Des Browne has been promoted to the role of v-p of sales and business development, Canadian operations.
Browne got his start on the insurance side of the automotive industry with Canada Life Casualty in the mid-90s before moving on to become the national business development manager for Discount Car and Truck Rentals.
He became involved in the collision repair space in 2003 when he accepted a position as director of insurance and client relations for Imperial Collision Centres. He continued after Imperial merged with Oaktown Collision Centres to form Assured Automotive in 2004.
“Des has been an integral part of the Business Development Team at Assured for almost 20 years,” according to Tony Canade, COO, Canadian Operations. “With excellent relationship management skills, a customer-centric focus and a keen ability to work closely with the Operations Team to exceed our customers’ expectations.”
According to Canade, in mid 2018, Browne assumed the business development role for all of Canada utilizing his strengths in the areas of support, training, planning and performance management to lead the various customer initiatives across Canada. While leading the company’s insurance relations, Browne provides a central point of contact for the company’s insurance partners and is the liaison between our customers and the operations team.
