Nanaimo, British Columbia — A car near a Nanaimo auto repair shop has been targeted in an arson case, when an individual caused a vehicle to explode using flammable materials, according to the Nanaimo RCMP.
According to Chek News, the incident took place outside Nanaimo’s Pure Gold Automotive along Wallace Drive, on Monday around 6 a.m., and is currently under RCMP investigation.
Surveillance footage obtained by the RCMP depicts the culprit tossing a substance onto the vehicle, before walking away. Another video from a passing witness captured sometime after the initial arson depicts the vehicle covered in flames.
No injuries were reported by the Nanaimo Fire Rescue, with the blaze only causing property damage.
