Toronto, Ontario — November 6, 2018 — Ford Motors took home three of the five vehicle of the year awards yesterday, as SEMA revealed the results from several of their 2018 competitions.
The American company claimed the top prize in the category of car of the year, truck of the year and sport compact of the year.
In the battle of the builders category, Kyle Tucker took home first place with his 1969 Chevrolet Camaro. Matt Steele and Bruno Massel from Truck U were awarded the Influencers of the Year award.
Matt Meenen from Builtright Industries won this year’s Launch Pad competition with his Bedslide Rack System, a product which adds modular mounting panels to the inside walls of a typically featureless truck bed. Meenen was one of the many young entrepreneurs that graced the SEMA stage to pitch his product infront of a panel of industry leaders. As a result of his victory, Meenen will receive a prize package that includes $10,000 towards the business he represented, turn-key exhibit space at the 2019 SEMA show and free advertisement in SEMA magazine.
SEMA’s 2019 show will take place from November 5-8. Registration for next year’s event will open in the spring. For more information visit www.semashow.com/register.
