Atlanta, Georgia – Dimitris Psillakis has been appointed to head of marketing and sales at Mercedes-Benz Cars North America and CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA, effective Jan. 1, 2021, according to a press release issued last Thursday.
Psillakis had been promoted to CEO of Mercedes-Benz Canada in September 2020. He will continue to oversee the automaker’s Canadian operations for the remainder of 2020 before taking on the new role in 2021.
As CEO, Psillakis will be responsible for all Mercedes-Benz vehicles in Canada and the U.S. as well as the nearly 3,000 employees and more than 400 dealerships under this branch of the company.
“Dimitris is a proven leader who successfully expanded the growth of Mercedes-Benz in key markets around the world,” said Britta Seeger, member of the board of management of Daimler AG and Mercedes-Benz AG, responsible for marketing and sales. “I am confident Dimitris will continue to advance our North American operations during this time of unprecedented transformation. I would also like to thank Nick Speeks for his outstanding commitment and engagement around the globe over the past decades, and wish him all the best for the future.”
Psillakis will succeed Nicholas Speeks who plans to pursue opportunities outside of Daimler after more than 40 years with Mercedes-Benz.
