Brad Mewes will host a panel at NACE Automechanika 2018

Toronto, Ontario – July 10, 2018 — Brad Mewes will be front and centre at NACE Automechanika this year, discussing the growing pains of building a multi-location business.

Mewes will be hosting a panel at the MSO Symposium, which will include guests with a vast array of knowledge in both the collision repair and automotive industry.

Last month at IBIS Mewes spoke about the negative direction outsiders perceived the automotive industry to be heading in. Mewes explained that the influx of technology entering the industry isn’t a unfavourable, but rather an advantage to the field going forward.

“When you look at the data, frequency, severity, the size of the car park, and vehicle component prices (parts, paint, etc.) are all projected to increase substantially over the next 5 years,” said Mewes.

Despite this, challenges still exist in attracting and maintaining inventors. The idea of driverless cars and assisted driving technology represents a major fear among potential banks and funding sources in the automotive industry.

“To date, no one has presented a thorough analysis of data that demonstrates a material impact over the next 60 to 120 months,” said Mewes. “I have been very focused on building out offerings designed to bring resources and capital to this industry to support those that share my point of view that now is a great time to be in the industry.”

Mewes’s panel will take place August 9.
